What happens when a lifelong horror fan becomes a Christian? Should they bury their John Carpenter DVD's , burn their Lovecraft books and snap the obscure horror soundtracks they have lovingly collected over the years? I got that impression when I first started going to church.
Nowadays I'm an ordained minister in the Baptist Church, and I've been thinking. Rather than being inappropriate, what if horror is the only genre that really takes the supernatural seriously? And if God really does exist everywhere, why can't we find his fingerprints in the scary places?
The Flicks That Church forgot is a spooky quest to dive in to the theology of horror, and to have some fun being scared on the way...
Horror by it's nature has offensive elements and dark themes. So if you find yourself here with an interest in theology but not horror, then this isn't for you. Why not listen to something nicer instead?
